William and the sandbox

We have been terrible about taking and posting photos of William. Poor second child. I think that now that he is awake a little bit more, we will be pulling out the camera more. He is a really cute kid and has a lot of features that are similar to Isaac. It will be interesting to see how he evolves. So far he is a lot bigger than Isaac was-he is a very good eater. This photo was taken this evening. The faded spot on on his jammies on his tummy is from Isaac hugging him earlier today when he was crying and Isaac had pasta sauce on his face. I also have failed to put William's other sock back on after it fell off earlier today.
ooops! Isaac is really good at trying to console him. We learned yesterday that Isaac is also really good at putting his binky in, which was really handy when both of us had our hands full with other things. William is a great baby and very good natured and mellow. We said the same of Isaac at this age and I would say he is still good-natured, but definitely not mellow.

In other news, Aleks finished making a sandbox for the back yard and Isaac has been in heaven with it-we did not even need to go to a playground today to entertain him. Sharon and Mike dropped by this afternoon with 250 lbs of sand to contribute to the 200lbs we already had. Benny got his first introduction to the sandbox and seemed to enjoy himself.

New arrival + Easter

So, we have been absent from the blog for a while. Time to do some catch up.

Our little William decided to make an early arrival like his older brother (both were 10 days early). I had a doctor's appointment in the morning and about five meetings at work after that. That day at work was intended to be my big wrap up day, so I was not thinking much about the doctor's appointment. I was really willing the baby to come later. I had bronchitis and was still recovering from that as well as the rib damage I seemed to have gotten from all the coughing so going in to labor was not high on my priority list. At the doctor's, we realized that my water had broken and that basically meant that I needed to have the baby within the day. That was a bit of a surprise. So, I went home and tried to tie up some stuff for work and pack up things for Isaac and myself while Aleks finished up things at work. Once we were ready, we picked up Isaac from daycare and dropped him with family and then headed to the hospital. William decided to wait until 1:10am to arrive, making it easy for us to remember his and Isaac's birthdays (both are on the same day of the month).

So far he is doing good newborn stuff: eating, sleeping and pooping. We think he is adorable and are enjoying getting acquainted with him. Isaac is doing great so far and seems intrigued by him. He likes to hold him and point out his ears, eyes, head, etc.

One funny thing that Isaac has done is that he is possessive of his changing pad. He never has allowed us to change him on it and does not like to lie down for diaper changes. So, we busted out the changing pad for William and suddenly Isaac decided that he was not going to share that. So, Isaac got down on it and demanded to have his diaper changed. Needless to say it has been much easier to change Isaac since William came along. All we have to do is mention that we are changing William's diaper and Isaac comes toddling on over and demands to have his diaper changed.

We had a nice Easter weekend. There was an easter egg hunt at the church Saturday morning and Isaac had a lot of fun with that. He totally gorged himself on sugar and loved every minute of it.

Sunday we refilled the plastic eggs with healthier snacks and had another hunt around our backyard.

My mom has been in town the last week helping out, which has been great. I am still trying to figure out how to entertain and take care of Isaac while breastfeeding all of the time. Should be an adventure when my mom leaves! I suspect that there will be tears involved (Isaac's, William's and mine).
