The Jogathon

Isaac's preschool had a jogathon today. The weather was perfect and Isaac was really revved. It was one hour long and we thought he would do about 4-5 laps (400m per lap). But it turns out he surprised us and did 10. There were still 15 minutes when he finished his 10th lap and he told us he was done. Apparently he had set that goal for himself and was satisfied to achieve it. He did really great.

His favorite part was getting cheered on as he ran through the start/finish line each time he went around. He would give a coy smile, run really fast and then stop to take a rest once he was out of sight of the cheering squad. He also made sure that Aleks and I were not with him at that point so we did not steal any of his thunder.

The boys loved the popsicles afterward.

He also got a trophy for running, which he called the statue of liberty. He took it to the hardware store today when we ran an errand there. This picture is with Stacie, the director of the preschool. She is really great.

Here he is with his teacher, who he loves.

After we got home it was time to mow the lawn. William was happy to help out (thanks again for the toy lawnmower Elise-it is well loved and doubles as a vaccum, too).

For Aleks

Patriot's Day

Patriot's day was a lot of fun. For those not from New England, it is the day we celebrate the first shots being fired to start the Revolutionary War. Really early in the morning, there is a reenactment of the first shots on the Lexington green. Since we live really close to this, Aleks decided it was time to take Isaac. So they got up at 4:30am and made their way there to watch it (appropriate since they are the early birds in the house). Isaac thought it was the greatest thing even thought the muskets were a little loud.

William and I stayed home and slept in until 7am. That was a great start of the day for me.

Random photos from the last many months

Here are some of our favorite photos since the new year.

Early morning with Aleks and the boys. Note: I am not so good about getting the kids in matching outfits (not really my thing). But I am really in to getting a good deal, and these pajamas were a good deal, so I got two sets.

William is hilarious when he is falling asleep in the car. We try to keep him awake and he smiles as his eyes are rolling to the back of his head. It is so funny and cute. He is a very happy sleeper.

Every so often we take the kids for ice cream at the Brigham's ice cream shop around the corner from our house. It is really vintage. The kids love the ice cream and watching buses drive by. Somehow, William got a hold of the frappe that Aleks and I were sharing...sneaky kid.

William went through a phase where he loved to sit on the back of the futon. Every so often Isaac would join him. In this shot it was on a Sunday and they were still spiffed out from church. (Please don't mind the clashing paint color and futon cover-it has finally been remedied after six months.)

We had a great easter. In the car on the way to the church easter egg hunt, William decided to turn his basket in to a hat-Isaac thought that was a pretty good idea, but his basket was not as cooperative.

On the hunt!

Pigging out. Have I mentioned that William has a killer sweet tooth? When both boys get a lollipop (the hardware store and my allergy doctor hand them out), Isaac takes a few licks and gives it to me. In approximately the same amount of time, William devours his and eventually will hand over the totally slobbered on stick.

William loves to swing. (I love the mismatched socks! We are starting them young to follow in our nerdy path. Isaac had his shirt on backwards all day at preschool today.)

Benny spent some time with us last weekend and we gave all the boys a bath. They had so much fun. Benny and Isaac loved to dump water on each other.

Birthdays

Here goes a hail-mary to get a little more caught up on the blog (sorry grandparents!). Hopefully someone still notices this sorry little blog.

We have just bean through birthday season and now have a newly-minted four year old and two year old. So far I am really enjoying these ages.

First Isaac had his birthday and had a little party with friends. He loved it!

Aunt Sharon made him a really amazing costume, which he loves to wear.

Birthday cake with family-he was a big fan and even blew out the candles. William was very proud of him and clapped.

Then William had his birthday. He had some much fun even though he did not really know what was going on-he just kept getting cake and presents.

He did great "blowing" (or shall I say spitting) out the candles. Mmmm...

A sample of his presents. He LOVES trucks and insists on sleeping with his garbage truck every night.

We are definitely overdue for a post. We captured this footage of William playing with legos this evening.
